About Hope Christian School at Cedar Hills

Established in 1972 faithfully educating students for over five decades.

Hope Christian School at Cedar Hills was originally founded as Cedar Hills Baptist Christian School with a clear mission: to provide a strong Christian academic education grounded in Biblical truth and committed to excellence.

Since 1972, our school has remained steadfast in its purpose, pursuing the highest level of academic achievement while shaping students through strong Christian principles. Our desire has always been to positively impact our community, our nation, and the world for Jesus Christ.

In 2025, Cedar Hills Baptist Church entered a new season of renewal and replanting, becoming Hope Church at Cedar Hills. This marked an exciting new chapter of growth and revitalization for our church family. In unity with our church and in celebration of this renewed vision, our school prayerfully changed its name to Hope Christian School at Cedar Hills.

While our name has changed, our foundation has not.

We continue to build upon the same Biblical convictions, the same commitment to academic excellence, and the same legacy of Christian education that have defined us since our founding. Our history is rich, and our future is filled with hope as we move forward together as one church and school family.

Our purpose remains clear: to educate with excellence and disciple with intention for the glory of God.

Mrs. Pugh has faithfully served Hope Christian School at Cedar Hills for over 14 years. Her leadership is rooted in service, transparency, and Christ centered accountability, with a commitment to building a school culture where students are known, teachers are supported, and families feel connected. Her journey as a parent to a child with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities has shaped her compassionate and holistic approach to education, giving her a deep sensitivity to the needs of students and families. Her mother in law, Judy Pugh, was a beloved former principal, and her mother, Jean Ann Taylor, has served as the school librarian for nearly 30 years. For Mrs. Pugh, HCS is not simply a place of employment, but a ministry, and she is devoted to preserving its legacy while helping students grow spiritually and academically.
